I wish Mr. Rogers was here
My 9th, 2020
I don’t know about you, but I wish Mr. Rogers was here to get us through this Pandemic, because dealing with our feelings is getting really hard, isn’t it?! I’m reminded of Fred Rogers almost everyday at work, when I change into my work boots that I wear in the field… I do my “Mr Rogers” and change to my outside shoes. When I return to the office, I do it again, and change back to my inside shoes, as not to track crime scene muck back inside.
I was reminded again of Mr. Rogers when we came across these neighborly sights during our walks the last 2 days.

Please stay in your Car. Enjoy a few songs and move along. Thanks FM Radio.
For the last few Friday nights, just two streets down from our house, a local cover-band “FM Radio”, plays music for the neighborhood from 5-7pm. They social distance from each other while playing for the neighborhood … some wear masks, some don’t. Some sit in their cars, some just walk by. Some listen from their yards from blocks around. Their sign reads “Please stay in your Car. Enjoy a few songs and move along. Thanks FM Radio”.
Chalk Art in the driveway. It says, “Hello, Give a Wave”. So we did. Maybe the kids were watching from inside the house, we don’t know, but it made us smile. Matt pointed out the intentional artist choice of the thumb that covers the eye on the waving hand. Some real thought went into this.
Chalk Art on the street in front of a house about a half mile from the last. It reads “We miss you! Be happy! Stay Strong.”
Thanks kid, we will! And I hope all my readers will too. Stay strong everyone, and BE HAPPY!
Thanks for the delights NEIGHBORS!
And I will leave you with a quote from Fred Rogers: The media shows the tiniest percentage of what people do. There are millions and millions of people doing wonderful things all over the world, and they're generally not the ones being touted in the news.
