Warning sensitive uncensored content
My feeling about photojournalism during the 2020 Pandemic is much how I feel about war photography, I don’t think it should be censored, like the ban by the H.W. Bush administration of American solder’s coffins coming back during the Persian Gulf war, and the rarely seen photos of American dead. If we hideout in our suburbs and refuse to look at the unsavory, we will never be without war, and we will never be without injustice. As a colleague of mine said to me recently about his years as a newspaper photographer, the most important part of the job is “telling the truth”. Thanks for that insight Scott.
A woman experiencing homelessness strips down naked at Piper Technical Center near Union Station. This is not an uncommon sight at PPT. Stripping down like this, in an agitated psychosis, is often associated with such drugs as PCP and Flakka. The only telling visual of the time of COVID-19, is the blue medical mask around her neck.
